Well all the versions are a bit not same. For yellow the starting you will get Pickachu so it is different but where you go is the same.
Part 1: The Beginning: Pokémon
is a fun game for all ages. There are 3 versions of the game,
Red ,Blue and yellow. The point of the game is to capture as many
Pokémon as you can (there are 151 in all) and to eventually
be the best Pokémon Trainer in the World! First you have
to go to the back where there are grass. Then you will see Prof.
Oak capture a Pokemon. When you first start off in either game,
you can pick between 3 Pokémon: Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and
Charmander. ( In the yellow
version you start off with Pikachu) I personally suggest that you start out
with Squirtle, but, they're all pretty good. Once you pick out
your first Pokémon, you have your first battle with Gary,
your rival. He's not too tough, especially if you have Charmander
or Squirtle. Next, you go to the north of Pallet Town (where you
start) and into Viridian City. Using the first Pokémon
you selected
you can battle other Pokémon like Pidgey . Once you get
past that route, you'll be in Viridian City. At Viridian City,
you can talk to some people and you'll be able to heal your pokémon
at the Pokémon Center. You should also go into the PokéMart,
the clerk will tell you to deliver a package to Prof. Oak. Now
go back to the Mart where you can by Pokéballs, which you
use to capture Pokémon with. After you get your Pokéballs,
you can start capturing pokémon, and begin an adventure
like no other!
Part 2: Viridian City Through
Pewter City: If you try to go North from Viridian City, you'll
be stopped
by an old cranky guy... go get the PARCEL from the guy at counter
at the Pokémart, then give it to the
old guy. In return he will show you how to catch pokémon,
and also let you pass. There is also the Viridian
Gym, but the leader seems to be gone... you'll be able to go to
that gym later in the game. Also, In the
Pokémart, talk to the guy at the counter, he'll give you
a package to return to Prof.. Oak. When you
return the package, Prof. Oak will give your your Pokédex.
Once you give the parcel to the old guy, go
North into Viridian Forest. You'll meet up with several trainers
along the way, but they aren't hard,
they have pokémon like Weedle, Kakuna, and Rattata at levels
between 3 and 8. Once you get past
Viridian Forest, and you'll arrive in Pewter City. Pewter City
is the first city with a Pokémon Gym that
you'll be able to go into. The Leader is Brock, who is a collector
of Rock-type pokémon. The best way to
beat his pokémon is with a Water-type Pokémon. Fire
and Ground types won't do as good. If you don't
have a Water-type Pokémon, Pidgey is your best bet. If
you beat Brock, you'll receive the Boulder
Badge. Also in Pewter City is a Museum. Go into the building to
the right of the Museum and talk to the
scientists, one will give you a fossil that you can use later.
Part 3: To Mt.. Moon and Beyond!
To the East of Pewter City is Route #3, making your way through
this route may be harder than you think. Along the way you'll
face about 8 trainers. Once you manage
through Route #3, you'll see a Pokémon Center and the Mt.
Moon Tunnel Entrance. Mt. Moon is basically a big maze in a tunnel.
You'll have to go up and down certain stairs to get out. In Mt.
Moon you can find pokémon like: Zubat, Geodue, and Clefairy.
There are also several trainers scattered about that you can beat
for cash. You'll also get a chance to take 1 of two rare fossils,
if you can beat a particular
trainer. This is also the first time you'll meet a member of the
infamous Team Rocket, a group of evil
Pokémon Trainers. Once you finally get out of Mt. Moon,
(it will take some trial and error) keep going and
you'll find yourself in Cerulean City. Misty is the leader of
the Cerulean City Gym. She has water-type
pokémon at her command. The best way to beat her pokémon
is with a water or rock type Pokémon. Fire
types won't do very well. If you beat her, you'll receive the
Cascade Badge, which gives you the ability
it control any pokémon level 30 or under. Any higher and
your pokémon can decide to ignore your
commands. In Cerulean City, you'll also find out that Team Rocket
has robbed a taking the DIG ability
with them... Another thing is that there is a bike shop in the
city, but you'll need a Bike Voucher to
receive one. At the northern part of the city is a long bridge...
you'll have to beat 5 trainers to cross
it. But, once you do cross it, head to the east, and eventually
you'll come across a sea cottage, where a
pokémaniac lives, named Bill. It seems that Bill has changed
himself into a pokémon by accident. If you
change him back, he'll gladly give you a free ticket, that you
can use to go on the SS Anne (a ship) in
Vermilion City. After you've done all this, head East of Cerulean
City... keep going and find the Rock
Tunnel, where your quest to be the best Pokémon Trainer
in the world will continue... Note: To get a Bike
Voucher, Go to Vermilion City, and into the Pokémon Fan
Club. There is a guy in there that will want to
tell you about his Pokémon Stories, if you listen to him,
he'll give you a free Bike Voucher in return.
Part 4: Into The Rock Tunnel
I actually had a hard time in the Rock Tunnel, because, at the
time, I
didn't have the FLASH ability. Imagine hardy being able to see
a thing, running into Zubats every five
steps, and battling an occasional trainer, all while not having
a clue where you're going. But, somehow I
managed through... After you find your way out of the Rock Tunnel,
you'll end up at Lavender Town, (at
the place with the ghosts) In Lavender City, there seems to be
Ghosts in the Pokémon Tower, but, you
won't be able to identify them until you have the Silph Scope...
So, for now, look around, visit some
people, then head West. You'll have to pass through a trail with
a lot of trainers, but none of them are
too hard. (Note: If they don't see you. they can't challenge you,
so, If you want to avoid them, go
around them or behind them.) After you pass all of the trainers,
go in the building, give the guard a drink
of water, and once you pass through the other side, you'll be
in Saffron City. Team Rocket seems to
have taken all of the employees at the Silph Co. Office Building.
But, a member of Team Rocket is
blocking your path to the building, so you can't go in there just
yet. Instead, head towards the Fighting
Dojo (Not the Saffron City Gym) and beat the leader there. If
you beat him, he'll give you a choice of
either Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee. Both of them are good, but I prefer
Hitmonlee (The Kicking one). Note:
before you can give the guard a drink of water, go into the underground
passageway in the building to the
east of Saffron City (the one you can't pass if you don't give
the guard a drink), you'll end up in Celadon
City. There is a building there, go to the top floor, and buy
some drinks. Give all the different drinks to
a girl on the same level, and she'll give you different TMs as
a reward. After all of that, buy one bottle
of water, and give it to a guard. He'll then spread the word (and
the water) to all of the other guards,
and you'll be able to pass through the different buildings where
guards used to stop you.
Part 5: The Hostage Re-Takeover
It seems that Team Rocket are up to their old tricks again. They've
taken everyone hostage at the Silph Co. Building in Saffron City.
Your mission, if you want to get the
Master Ball, is to rescue the hostages, and defeat the evil Team
Rocket once again. You'll have to go up and down some stairs,
use the elevator, and go through the occasional portal to save
the President of
Silph Co. He's been taken hostage by Giovanni, the infamous Leader
of Team Rocket. If you defeat
Giovanni and the rest of Team Rocket, The President of Silph Co.
will give you a Master Ball for your
help. With the Master Ball, You can catch any Pokémon you
want, just by throwing the ball, It
automatically catches the Pokémon, even if the Pokémon
has full life. But, Remember to only use it on a
very rare or hard-to-catch Pokémon, you can only use it
once in the whole game.
Part 6: The Hunt in the Safari
Zone Southeast of the bike trail is Fuchsia City, home of the
Safari
Zone and a warden with no teeth, It's an interesting place...
Well, it seems like the warden lost his
teeth, and it's put to you to find them! The warden's Golden Teeth
are in the Safari Zone, close to the
Secret House. Anyway, when you first enter the Safari Zone, go
north east, then go up the first set of
stairs you see, go west to find another set of stairs, then go
north and find another set of stairs, head
east for a few steps to find yep, another set of stairs. Once
you go down the stairs, go east a little
bit, to where there is no more platform thing. Go north west,
and you'll see a sign, go beyond that, and
keep on going west, you'll pass a set of stairs and another sign,
go west and you'll come to another set of
stairs, go south west to more stairs, then go south west again.
You'll be in another area of he Safari
Zone, go south to find a set of stairs, go west, to find the other
set of stairs, then go North East and
you'll find the Secret House, where you get SURF as a reward for
finding it. The warden's Golden Teeth
are near the Secret House, so you'll need to set out on a little
scavenger hunt to find them. Once you
find the Golden Teeth, return them to the warden and he'll give
you a reward for them, plus, you'll
actually be able to understand him now. Also, lots of different
Pokémon are in the Safari Zone that you
can catch, including: Scyther, Kangaskhan, Dratini, Tauros, Rhyhorn,
Doduo and Exeggcute. Once you've
done what you need to do in the Safari Zone, head on to the Fuschia
City Gym, the leader there is Koga.
Unlike the other gyms, actually getting to Koga is not so easy.
He's set up "invisible" walls all over the
place that you'll have to go around in order to get to him. The
trick to navigating around the walls is to
look Very closely at your Game Boy, if you look close and hard
enough, you can see little dot-like things
scattered about, those all the walls. Just go around them as best
as you can, and you'll find Koga,
although it may take some trial and error to not end up in an
invisible dead end...
Part 7: Surfing to SeaFoam
Islands After you defeat Koga, go to the southern shore of Fuchsia
City,
and surf into the water. Keep surfing along the rail-like thing
until you come upon an island. You're now at
Seafoam Islands. Go into the cave entrance to the east (the other
one is blocked off). This is one of the
harder caves in the game, you'll need to push boulders into the
water to change the direction of the
current ) you'll see what I mean when you play it). After you
push enough boulders into the water, the
current will change direction, and you can now surf in the previously
"un-surfable" water. Also in this cave
is Articuno, one of the Legendary Birds. See my "How to capture
Articuno without the Master Ball"
section in the Tips Page, for good strategies on catching it.
After Capturing Articuno, find your way out
of the cave, and you'll end up at the other cave entrance. (The
one that was blocked off). From here,
surf east to reach Cinnabar Island.
Part 8: The Cinnabar Challenge!
There's a lot to do in Cinnabar Island. First off, if you have
some
fossils or Old Amber, go to the Pokémon Lab. There, give
your old amber or fossils to one of the
scientist there. He'll turn the fossils into Pokémon you
can use! Once you've done that, go to the burned
down building to the northwestern part of the city. There, you'll
find the key to enter the Cinnabar
Island Pokémon Gym. Once you get it, walk up to the statues
scattered around the building, they have
secret switches that will open or close different "doors".
Also in this building are diaries, that contain
information on the rarest Pokémon of all: Mew! Manage to
find the key in the building, then go to the
Cinnabar Island Pokémon Gym. The leader is Blaine, he's
a master of Fire Pokémon, his Pokémon are all at
the 40 levels. The easiest way to be him is to use water Pokémon.
After you beat him, you'll receive the
Volcano Badge. Next, fly to Viridian City, and go to the Pokémon
Gym there (the one that was closed
earlier). The leader is Giovanni, the notorious leader of Team
Rocket! His pokémon levels range from the
lower 40's to the 50's. He isn't too hard to beat, but your Pokémon
will need to be at least levels around
50 - 60. After you beat him, you'll receive the Earth Badge, the
8th and final badge! You'll also receive
a move called Fissure, which is a 1 - Hit KO move, but only works
on fighting/land Pokémon. Now, you can
enter the Pokémon League, which is to the west of Viridian
City. You're on your way to becoming the
World's Greatest Pokémon Master!
Part 9: Eliminating the Elite
Four! First, you need to navigate through Victory Road, on your
way you'll
encounter many trainers, as well as Pokémon like Marowak,
Onix, and Machoke... all at levels around
40-50. Also in Victory Road is Moltres, one of the Legendary Birds.
In order to get through Victory
Road, you'll need to move numerous boulders on the little switches,
to get through various parts of the
cave. After you get through Victory Road, go north and you'll
find Indigo Plateau. Here, you can stock up
on items and heal your Pokémon. Once you go in through
the door to the North, there's no turning back!
You'll have to face the Elite Four and Gary without being able
to go back and healing your Pokémon in
Indigo Plateau. The first member of the Elite Four is Lorelei,
the master of Ice Pokémon. All of her
Pokémon are level 50's, and Water and Ice Pokémon
won't do well against them. Your best bet is to use a
Fighting or Fire to Pokémon against Lorelei. Once you defeat
her, heal any of your damaged Pokémon
before you go on, but, you'll have to use your own items, remember:
you can't leave once you've started
fighting the Elite Four... you either beat them and go on, or
lose and start over where you last saved.
Now, the second Member of the Elite Four is arguably the easiest.
He is Bruno, a Fighting Pokémon
trainer, and you should be able to beat him fairly easily. Water
and Psychic Pokémon work well against
him. Next, you face Agatha, a trainer who specializes in Ghost-type
Pokémon. Ice and Water-type
Pokémon have a big advantage against her Pokémon.
Once you defeat her, you go on to the leader of the
Elite Four, Lance. He is a Dragon-type Pokémon trainer,
and his Pokémon are in the 50-60 range. Have
you Pokémon Fully healed when you go up against Lance's
Pokémon. They have deadly Dragon-type attacks
that can do major damage. Water and Fighting-type Pokémon
will do well against Lance. When you defeat
Lance, you move on tou your Rival in the game, Gary, (or whatever
name you called him). His Pokémon
have the highest levels of any you'll face in the game, and he
is a lot tougher than he was when you've
had to fight him before. If you defeat him, Prof. Oak will come,
and congratulate you. He will then
record you and your Pokémon in the Pokémon Hall
of Fame. Your Pokémon Adventure is now over... almost.
You have beaten the game, but, if you really want to become a
Pokémon Master, you need to collect all
150 (Or 151 counting Mew) Pokémon. Below, you can read
some tips on how to catch some rare Pokémon,
among other things.
